About Me

George Marchinkowski is Moderator of the General Assembly of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa. Born and educated in Bellville in the Western Cape, he felt called into the ministry under the care and teaching of the Rev Rod Botsis.  He trained at Rhodes University in Grahamstown where he graduated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Divinity. He recently completed the Doctor of Ministry programme at Columbia Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, USA.  

Since the beginning of 2002, he has served as minister of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Edenvale. He had previously served the congregations of Bellville, in the Western Cape, and Margate, in Thekwini. He has travelled extensively preaching in Presbyterian Churches in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. In February 2006 he attended the ninth General Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Brazil.  

George is married to Sascha and they have 2 daughters, Leah and ZoĆ«. 

He has served as Moderator of the Presbytery of eGoli (two terms) and convened several committees of the General Assembly.  He loves reading, travelling, and cooking.
